Your customer asks a simple question. The AI-generated response sounds confident, but it gets the answer wrong or skips the next step.
If you run your business largely on your own, that's not just a software breakdown, it's another client conversation you must now fix.
Why this matters:
HighLevel changed the recommended model for its prompt-based Conversation AI agents to GPT-6 Sol. That makes today a great day to check at least one real AI-powered customer conversation, especially if an AI agent answers enquiries or helps people book appointments with you. Read HighLevel’s Conversation AI announcement.
New prompt-based agents now start on GPT-6 Sol. Existing agents keep the model you originally chose, with one important exception: agents previously configured to use GPT-5 or GPT-5 Mini already run on GPT-6 Sol because those models are now deprecated.
HighLevel will retire GPT-4.1 in Conversation AI as well, but didn't publish an effective date for GPT-4.1's retirement.
GPT-6 Sol is HighLevel's recommended model and they also report a higher pass rate in its own Conversation AI evaluation over GPT-4.1. The cost per reply stays about the same.
Those are HighLevel’s test results, not a guarantee that your AI agent will answer better after the model upgrade. Every model can write in a different way, and a reply that passes a general test may still mishandle your offer, your booking rules, or the way you speak to customers.
As always, test, test, and then test some more so you know precisely what's happening in your business.
Pick one question a customer is likely to ask before booking or buying. Test your agent’s answer in HighLevel’s agent test area, then read it as if you were that customer.
Is the answer accurate?
Does it make the next step clear?
Does it know when to stop and let you handle the conversation yourself?
If the AI agent misses something, correct its instructions and test again. Once your satisfied, and only once you're satisfied, should you relying on it with live enquiries.
If you use GPT-4.1, note that retirement is planned, but do not treat that as an announced deadline.
Check your current model and plan a small comparison before changing production.
If you used GPT-5 or GPT-5 Mini, HighLevel says those agents have already moved; reviewing one representative exchange is a sensible way to spot a tone or handoff problem.
This is essential when the agent is close to a customer decision, whether that's an enquiry, booking an appointment, a a question about what's included in your offer, or a request that should be handled by a person.
A quick test won't prove every AI-powered conversation is safe. It can show whether the common path still makes sense before you implement the change.
🛠️ Field Services Is Now in Private Beta: Requests, Jobs, Scheduling and Dispatch in One Place — HighLevel is testing a request-to-payment workflow for on-site service businesses, including quotes, visits, scheduling, customer notifications, invoices and payments. It is a private beta that requires enrollment, not a feature every account can turn on; if your business does not visit customers at their location, you can set this aside.
Start with one customer question. Test the reply, fix what is unclear, and only then decide whether a live model change belongs on your list.
