HighLevel course storefront and video analytics updates: how to test the student journey, choose a next offer, and avoid premature portal complexity.

Your Course Portal Should Show Students What Comes Next

October 29, 2026•5 min read

A student finishes a lesson, closes the tab, and has no clear idea what to do next.

You may have the right next course or offer, but if they have to search for it, the journey stops there.

The other problem is just as costly: you can't tell which videos held viewer's attention and which ones lost people.

HighLevel published several Course & Community Portal updates on October 28, 2026.

Two are worth a careful look if your business teaches, coaches or sells a sequence of offers.

NOTE: They're currently Labs features, not a reason to rebuild a working customer experience overnight.

They're live for all Wolf Pack Mentors CRM clients.

Make the next offer easier to find

HighLevel’s new Discover Courses & Offers area puts published courses and offers into a searchable storefront inside of your existing client portal.

A customer can browse available courses and purchase them directly.

You control which courses and offers appear by enabling the feature then marking each course you want displayed for Discover. Read HighLevel’s Discover Courses & Offers announcement.

It's great if someone buys an entry course and you have a sensible next step for them to take.

It does not mean every offer should be shown to every student.

A private mentoring invitation, for example, calls for a conversation, not a public purchase button.

Map one real student journey from purchase, sign-in, lesson, completion, next offer and checkout.

In a test account, make one suitable offer visible, and only one. Check that the right person can see it, that an unrelated person can't see it, and that price and checkout match what you intended.

Don't turn on your entire course catalogue until that client journey is crystal clear.

Course Analytics: See Where the Learning Experience Breaks Down

Course Video Analytics now reports how learners watch videos hosted natively in HighLevel courses. Note "hosted natively".

HighLevel also describes AI-powered insights, but those require the separate Course AI Beta.

Course Analytics are in Labs, and historical coverage is limited: desktop views from July 4, 2026, and mobile views from September 18, 2026. Earlier views will not suddenly appear in the report. Read HighLevel’s Course Video Analytics announcement.

Use these numbers to ask better questions, not to jump to conclusions about a one student.

If a lot of watchers leave a long introduction, that lesson probably needs to get to the point faster. If one video is watched repeatedly, perhaps the instructions need to be clearer. Or the subject needs more a more in-depth training.

Those are hypotheses to check, not proof that a new feature improved completion rates or sales.

Only Build A Custom Portal When The Standard Journey Can't Do The Job

HighLevel announced Labs tools for building a custom client portal with AI and connecting it to CRM custom objects. If that sentence sounds like Greek to you, you can probably ignore this feature.

The Vibe Coding builder can draw on courses, communities, appointments, files and member data; Custom Objects can expose structured CRM data in the portal.

HighLevel says each custom-object request can create three objects and a sub-account can have no more than ten custom objects. Read the Vibe Coding release and the Custom Objects release.

This could help when your client needs a specific progress view or service record that the ordinary portal doesn't show.

It also raises a more important question: who can see whose data?

There are own-record, company-level and read-only access patterns, but don't make a live client portal the place to learn if those boundaries work the way you need.

For most owners, the right order is simple.

Test the standard Discover journey.

Review the video data points and determine if the point to a real teaching problem.
